Sonus faber introduces their new Sonetto collection
Sonus faber demonstrated their new Sonetto speaker line at the High End show (left). This series is hand-made in Italy and has the trademark hand-sewn, leather lined top panels and Damped Apex Dome (DAD) tweeter technology of their reference line — but at more affordable price points. The Sonetto will be available in a matte white, piano black or wood finish and is expected to start shipping to U.S. dealers by late August.

Building on the expertise gained from over 30 years of designing high-performance speakers, Sonus faber has created a collection that features all the iconic elements of the brand: natural sound, natural materials, the Lute shape, the excellent finishes typical of Italian craftsmanship, and manufacturing done completely at the company’s state-of-the-art faactory in Vicenza.

A new do-everything preamplifier from MOON
Our friends at MOON by Simaudio introduced the versatile new 390 preamp, which features a built-in MIND 2 multizone streamer, MM/MC phono stage with fully configurable settings from the front panel, and a DAC section that reproduces DSD files from its HDMI inputs. But wait there’s more! It also plays back MQA files and is Roon-ready. From digital to analog, the 390 does it all. Price will be $5,295 and it’s expected to start shipping in late June.

How do you improve on perfection?
Another exciting new product announcement at #HighEndMunich is the Focal Grande Utopia EM Evo. If you came to Music Matters to hear our debut of this speaker’s predecessor, then you might be hard pressed to find room for improvement. This evolution of the Grande Utopia EM now incorporates all of Focal’s most recent technologies, including the NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit), the TMD suspension (Tuned Mass Damper), the reinforcement rings and a new-generation crossover system.

"We all lived in a ..." well, you know...
The ListenUp crew at #HighEndMunich saw plenty of exciting new products, but one of the favorites was Pro-Ject Audio Systems’ newest product in their limited-edition Beatles-themed turntable line. Its release ties in to this year’s 50th anniversary, 4K re-release of the film "Yellow Submarine."
