We’ve seen a real resurgence in our turntable business over the last year or two, and it’s not hard to see — or hear — why. Whether you grew up listening to LPs or you’re a younger person just now discovering the joys of vinyl, analog records have a warm, rich sound that is quite different and more appealing than the digital audio we’re now used to.
At ListenUp, we have a nice variety of turntables that integrate beautifully with today’s systems. Some models have a phono preamplifier built-in, so they can even be hooked up to receivers or mini-systems that don’t have a phono input. There are also models available with USB output, so you can digitize your record library and have access to it through your iPod/iPhone/iPad or distributed sound system. And the majority of our turntables come with a high-quality, factory-mounted cartridge included!
Great sound for a song
You don’t have to spend a lot to get a great-sounding turntable that will make your records really sing. At just $329, for instance, the belt-drive Denon DP-300 offers a heavy base construction to reduce vibration and a rigid, diecast aluminum platter that produces uniform rotation for smooth, flutter-free operation.
Pro-Ject is a Czech manufacturer that makes high quality, high value turntables which have impressed us for years with their accurate sound and great performance for the dollar. The Essential, their new entry-level model, is only $299 and comes in black, red or white. The versatile Essential Phono-USB version comes with a built-in phono preamp and USB output for just $399. Also priced at $399, the step-up Pro-Ject Debut III is one of our most popular models.
Music Hall is another one of our favorite turntable manufacturers. Their MMF 2.2LE turntable is a two-speed belt-driven turntable that gives you excellent performance at a reasonable price ($499), and it comes in Ferrari red for a stunning look.
Moving up the performance ladder
The audiophile-grade Music Hall MMF 5.1 turntable is a two-speed, belt-driven turntable employing the unique dual plinth construction originated by Music Hall. The distinctive design isolates the critical sound-reproducing components on the top platform (including the platter, main bearing, tonearm, and cartridge) from those mounted on the bottom platform (motor, switch, wiring, and feet).
When you’re ready to take another step up the price-performance ladder, check out the Denon DP-A100 turntable and matching DL-A100 cartridge. Denon has been making turntables in one form or another since 1910, and these special 100th Anniversary products deliver absolutely stunning musical recreation from your favorite analog recordings.
Cartridges, record cleaners and more
In addition to carrying a great selection of turntables, we also have an assortment of cartridges and record-cleaning devices to keep your system operating at its peak potential.
