Some people just have to have the latest thing when it comes to audio gear. But there’s another segment out there that’s not only perfectly happy with old equipment, they seek it out for the warm sound you can only get from a turntable. The Wall Street Journal recently caught up with some of these audio holdouts, who despite some recent interest in vinyl still face long odds in returning to widespread influence.
The story also notes that the hottest segment in home audio right now are docking systems for MP3 players. In 2008, 8.2 million units were shipped by manufacturers.
