It’s a truism of the custom home electronics world: the easiest systems to operate require the most sophisticated technology behind the scenes. That’s why Jim Lovell of Trillium Homes recommended ListenUp to his client Michael.

Michael wanted a truly Wow!-inducing experience from his home system, but he wanted to make sure it was a snap to use. So ListenUp Custom Division sales consultant Bill Rollin designed a Crestron-based setup that offers ultimate control of all the audio, video, security and lighting for the entire property — indoors and out. There’s a 12-button wall-mounted keypad in every room, and each floor also has its own LCD touchscreen to control everything, including the gas lighting outside and the five gas fireplaces. The family can use their Crestron LCD touchscreens to monitor the weather, and to program music to automatically start playing.

The main A/V system in the hearth room contains a 61-inch Runco plasma HDTV and a full B&W/Velodyne/Rotel 7.2-channel surround system for a powerfully visceral sonic impact. In-wall and in-ceiling speakers are located throughout the home, while a Kaleidescape Media Server offers instant access to music and movies.

“The thing that impressed me and my builder with ListenUp is that they were so professional on the front end,” says Michael. “They got their work done and stayed out of the builder’s way. ListenUp took ownership of the system and made sure I was happy.”
