When Nancy and George recently moved to Denver, they wanted the electronics system in their new home to fit their active lifestyle. Flat-panel HDTVs and great audio throughout the home were of course on their wish-list, but they needed to be able to control climate, security and lighting as well, and they wanted the ability to do this from remote locations as they spend a lot of time away from home. “No problem,” said ListenUp sales consultant Dusty Gorski, who designed a Control4-based system that met all their requirements.

Surprising capabilities
George and Nancy love the expanded functionality of their new system, and it allows them to do things they didn’t even know were possible. Before leaving for the mountains, for instance, they access cameras at the Eisenhower Tunnel to check traffic, and they can control the home’s temperature over the Internet while away. One of Nancy’s favorite conveniences of the system is the lighting control. When George is away on business, she uses the automatic controls to light pathways in the house and turn off all the lights with a single touch of a keypad located conveniently next to the bed. She never worries about lights being left on or that the right outdoor lights are being turned off, because Control4 takes care of all of it for her.

Showtime!
Time at home for the Caseys often includes entertaining family and friends by accessing specific zones of audio to play music while simultaneously sharing photo slide-shows of recent vacations on the main TV screens. Their Control4 system also allows them to sit back and enjoy one of more than 400 movies they have stored on their digital media server. Their easy-to-use Control4 panel gives them the ability to choose their favorite songs, Internet radio stations and other programming from any room in the house.

Simply easy to use
Having come from a home with complicated integration technology, Nancy was a little skeptical about learning a new system. But Dusty assured her that Control4’s flexibility and ease of use would satisfy their needs better than their previous system. Nancy now admits that the Control4 system is very intuitive — in fact, she says, “Guests are able to pick up the remote controls and put on movies or music without even questioning how it’s done.”

Control4 has enhanced the Casey’s busy lifestyle by adding convenience and control that make their daily lives stress-free, allowing them to focus on what really matters.
