Service Division Manager
Randy Baker has definitely worked his way up the A/V food chain. He started off sweeping floors and loading trucks for an audio store in his hometown of De Kalb, Illinois, then moved up to salesman and eventually store manager.
When Randy and his wife decided to move to colorful Colorado back in 1989, he interviewed at our Boulder location and ended up working there for nearly 14 years. Once again he moved up the ranks, working in sales, as a project manager and then as assistant manager. Today Randy is the manager of our Field Installation Department, working out of our corporate headquarters in Denver.
He and his wife live in Lafayette, and they have a daughter in college at the University of Northern Colorado. In his spare time Randy enjoys watching motor sports, especially IRL (Indy Racing League) and kart racing.
“I like working for ListenUp because they value my opinions and experience,” says Randy. “Employees actually get a significant say as to how things are run, and that’s not always the case with a lot of organizations.” It’s sure a long way from sweeping floors in DeKalb.

Service Technician
Our video field service technician Hank Bellacosa has been servicing TVs since 1981, including a seven-year stint at the old Sony service center in Aurora. He has attended advanced training classes sponsored by Sony, JVC, Runco, Fujitsu, Sharp and Mitsubishi. Equipped with the latest tools, including the Sencor Video Generator and the CP5000 Color Analyzer (trust us, they’re very cool tools), Hank will make sure you get all the video performance you paid for.

Inventory Manager
In 1981, MTV was launched, Prince Charles married Lady Di, and Scott Gnoit became the manager of ListenUp’s service department. And he’s the short-timer in his family — wife Jane joined the ListenUp team a year earlier. Scott’s skills were evident from the very beginning, as he helped turn the service center into a profitable operation.
Today, with the commoditization of so many products, repairs are no longer a profit center, but they remain an essential part of ListenUp’s philosophy. Says Scott: “We still believe in doing the quickest repairs possible, and at a reasonable price, so we can add value to the whole ListenUp experience.” We think Scott knows a thing or two about experience.

Service Technician
Installer Scott Sabin had a variety of techie and not so techie gigs before he came to ListenUp. He worked with computer-based camera surveillance systems and as a graphic designer, building web sites and presentation graphics for print. In between, he also instructed K-12 students in illustration at a private art school (presumably he didn’t have to grade a lot of stick figures).
A Michigan native, Scott loves the Colorado lifestyle. “Working for ListenUp has certainly increased my interest in electronics, specifically how we interface with electronic equipment and its affect on our interpersonal communication. But while ‘unplugged,’ I try to get out to snowboard or cycle as much as possible. I enjoy photography and painting, too, and hope to return to some fine art ventures someday.”
It’s a challenge keeping up with all the latest technologies and procedures, but Scott views that has a positive: “The most enjoyable aspect of my position at ListenUp is that it keeps me mentally active. The tasks presented to me are ever-changing and that keeps things interesting.” You might even say it’s an art.

Project Manager /
Technical Supervisor
Originally from Massachusetts, Glen Watts first came to Colorado in the mid-sixties when he was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base. He began working in electronics while in the service and continued when he got out. In fact, Glen went to Maganovox TV training way back in 1971! He started doing some sub-contracting work for ListenUp in the late seventies, and then came on full-time in 1982. He has served as a bench technician, as a field installer, and is now our technical supervisor.
“I like working in install because people are always so happy when they’re getting their new systems,” says Glenn. “Plus, I’ve been doing it so long now I that I often get to see the second and third generation system for the same customer.”
Speaking of multiple generations, Glen’s son Doug also is also employed by ListenUp, as a project manager. Doug started working for us after school and on weekends back in 1983, and then came on full-time in ’85. He got to work on a lot of Commcercial Division stuff back then, including the Rainbow Music Hall. More recently he’s been involved in some high-profile residential jobs, such as systems for John Elway and Carmelo Anthony. Doug enjoys the “family atmosphere” of ListenUp, and in his case that’s literally true!
