An A/V veteran for 9 years, Colorado Springs store manager David Huddleston came to us from Phoenix. Down there in the Valley of the Sun he owned his own custom integration company and then worked for a leading home entertainment custom retailer. After one too many people uttered the phrase “Yeah, but it’s a dry heat,” he decided it was time for a change, so he loaded up his family and headed north.
“Working at ListenUp has exceeded my expectations. As a dedicated A/V enthusiast myself, it’s really cool to work at a place where the entire organization strives to stay ahead of the curve technologically. It’s a ‘learners’ environment — everyone is very diligent about keeping up with the latest stuff, which I find really stimulating and fun.”
Now that they don’t have to worry about instant heat-stroke, David and his family love to take advantage of the many recreational activities Colorado has to offer. “We love mountain biking, hiking, four-wheeling, fishing — anything outdoors. This year we’re even going to
try skiing.”
Remember, David, it gets kind of chilly up there in the hills — but it’s a dry cold.
When ListenUp moved to the new Woodmen location, Patsy joined us to lead the way in furniture and interior design. She has been an interior designer since 1998, and prior to that she was a stage manager in the theatre, with extensive training in lighting and set design.
Since being at ListenUp she has added an understanding of technology that allows us to offer "lifestyle" design, in which we tastefully combine the functionality and entertainment aspects with the look and feel of the room. No longer is it what he wants and how she wants it to look – now the two are harmoniously blended!

I had no idea when I started here how much I would love learning about system integration, or how much I would learn to appreciate the value of good sound and video. Patsy has lived all over the country, moving 24 times in all. She settled in Colorado Springs to be closer to her family, and she's enjoying finally planting some roots. She was recently wed in a lovely ceremony at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and those preparations definitely fit her creative spirit! She and her husband love to hike, camp, and explore all that Colorado has to offer.
Sales Consultant
Joining ListenUp in 2009, Adam has expanded on his love of electronics and how they work. He setup his dad's first home theater with his brother when he was 11 years old. His love of working with people led him to sales and he figured "why not sell what you love." Adam started his A/V career with a regional electronics store.
Since leaving there he has brought an intensity and love of life to the Colorado Springs store. "I enjoy working at ListenUp because I work with a great group of people, and I get to enjoy all of the latest technologies for home entertainment."
Growing up in Loveland, Colorado, Adam moved to Colorado Springs in 2004 to attend UCCS. He met his wife Katy while working on his business degree and they married in 2007. Playing hockey, which he has done since he was four, is where Adam spends most of his days off. If not playing he loves to attend games with friends. Given the opportunity, he also enjoys trail riding his dirt bike in Evergreen. You might say he plays hard but works harder!
Sales Consultant
Rob started out life as a pastry chef. After many years of working late nights in the restaurant industry, Rob went back to his fanatical love of music and childhood desire to be a radio DJ and came up with a career in the A/V world. He started out with a regional electronics chain and joined ListenUp in 2010. With his collection of over 2000 albums, Rob has brought a music knowledge base that is outstanding!
"I don't feel like I even worvvk when I'm here. My job is to help people get back into their music. I'd do it for free!"
Rob made it here from Iowa by way of Seattle. When he isn't here "working for free" he enjoys the Colorado lifestyle with his wife. Right now they are busy preparing for their first child. A fun part of their history is that they met a on a cruise ship in Alaska. Rob brings a diverse background to ListenUp and looks forward to sharing his love of music with his clients. Installer
Starting in 2010, Clint was the second in the Kawakami family to join the Colorado Springs installation team. He got started in this industry when he was 15 and realized it was possible to put a massive stereo system in a car that could blow out windshields. He moved from cars to installing phone systems to installing home audio. He has been installing home audio and video for 11 years and loves the home automation and integration that ListenUp offers to clients.
"My favorite things about working at ListenUp are the changing products and technology," says Clint. "I also love the opportunity to meet clients, to see the newest homes and décor."
Clint is a native of Colorado Springs. He does all the Colorado favorites like snowboarding, riding motorcycles, shooting photography and going to live concerts. If you don't find him out at a client's house it's a pretty sure bet he is outside somewhere living it up. Clint is also the proud father of a female boxer puppy.
