Hard as it might be to believe, we’ve almost reached the end of the Harry Potter movie franchise, even though its producers decided to break the seventh and final book into two films. Not that the interest in all things Hogwarts has subsided. It figures to grow more come December, when the sixth film in the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, arrives as a special edition Blu-ray release. And there’s added motivation to buy that release as a special edition, according to the web site Harry Potter’s Page, because it will include footage from the seventh film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The DVDs will also include interviews with the cast and crew, deleted scenes and the documentary J.K. Rowling: A Year in the Life. Ready to pre-order for the Dec. 8 release? Go to Amazon

It may not be as technically dazzling as Harry Potter, but you KNOW the Blu-ray reissue of the film South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut, which reached stores this week, will be a lot funnier. Here are some new releases this week, all available in Blu-ray: The Proposal: A literary assistant (Ryan Reynolds) agrees to marry his older boss (Sandra Bullock), who is in danger of being extradited to Canada unless she weds; Land of the Lost: Based on the classic Sid and Marty Krofft TV show, this action-comedy stars Will Ferrell; Drag Me to Hell: Honestly, does the plot of this thriller matter?
