Luke Edwards moved to the Denver area from San Luis Obispo, California in the early 90s when his dad, a working musician, took the position of Music Minister at a church in Arvada. Having worked for years in recording studios, it was a great match when Luke came to our Commercial A/V Division in 2004.
“I felt comfortable around P.A. systems and being around more than 50 years of experience [fellow workers Norm Simmer and Dan Eller] in the live audio field, so it didn’t take long for me to get in the groove of doing live audio rather than studio recording.”
It seems only natural that Luke’s main interests in life are playing guitar and listening to music, considering that just about everyone in the Commercial department has some ties to playing music in a band, or has a spouse that does.
“Working here has me in direct contact with the gear, people and places that interest me most. One of my first customers was a guy from Taos who called me about putting together a PA for his band that would rock any small club. The first time I met him face to face was after I had built his entire set-up in our showroom and he walked in while I was blasting… er… testing his system with some Led Zeppelin. He comes up to me and says ‘Is that mine?’ I nodded and smiled and he says, ‘Holy crap, I just got goose bumps.’ That’s about as good as it gets for me.”
And for us, too.
