The recent CEDIA gathering in Atlanta produced the usual meeting and greeting, but more importantly, some upcoming products were served up as well. Today we’re looking at two great items from Denon, with another pair coming tomorrow. Let’s start with Denon’s AVR-4810CI A/V Receiver, which they promise will “advance the state-of-the-art in home theater surround sound with nine on-board amplifier channels, each rated at a robust 140 watts.” Hard to argue about that. Learn more by visiting the Denon site and look for it in stores by the end of September.
Speaking of Denon, the company’s also about to roll out the DBP-4010UDCI ‘Universal’ Blu-ray Disc Player in mid to late October. This offers superb quality and tremendous efficiency, since it allows audio and video playback with all of the discs in your music and video collection, including Blu-ray, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD and music CD, along with Kodak and Fuji picture disc capabilities for added flexibility. That’s enough for most of us, but we also like the fact that it’s the world’s first player to feature built-in web browser and remote access capabilities, allowing iPhone and iPod Touch remote control via LAN/network as well as installer remote setup and configuration functionality. Cool, eh?
