B&W Group showcased a number of new products from its various brands at the recent CEDIA 2009 expo, ranging from in-wall speakers (with a slick new
mounting mechanism) to sub-woofers to streaming media devices.
B&W Custom Installation 600 and 700 Series: These in-wall speakers offer the usual high quality sound expected from B&W, but what really had people talking was the QuickDog mounting system that allows tool-less installation of the speaker. No more drills, just a simple click.
DB1 subwoofer: This launched a new era in B&W subwoofer design, with a -6db point of 15Hz and sophisticated DSP-based set-up; all wrapped in an elegant, compact gloss black enclosure.
RDG-1520 Digital Gateway Internet Tuner, RCX-1500 FM/CD/Streaming Media Receiver: CEDIA was the launch platform for these two streaming media devices, available later this year. Both offer digital connection of an iPod, and the Wolfson DAC and analog output stage from Rotel’s RCD-1520 CD player.
