The NHT M-00 powered mini-monitor and its companion subwoofer, the S-00 impressed our owner, Walt Stinson, so much, he insisted we sell it at ListenUp. After listening to the NHT system being driven by his personal music player, he felt it outperformed other speaker systems selling for substantially more.

The M-00 is equally at home in stereo or multichannel systems. Connected directly to a digital music player like the ipod or a computer, it delivers the rich, full sound associated with audiophile separate component systems. Because it includes its own amplifier, it packs subtantial output, surprising bass response and startling accuracy for a compact monitor speaker.

• Loudspeaker Design
  The M-00 compact monitor is an acoustic suspension design which employs drivers developed in house using proprietary computer modeling. The paper cone 4.5-inch woofer features a two-layer voice coil wound on an aluminum former, allowing sustained high-temperature operation.
  The 1-inch ferro-fluid cooled, fabric dome tweeter employs a sophisticated "under-hung" motor design utilizing a large magnet structure, thicker top plates, and shorter voice coils, all of which keep the voice coil in the linear magnetic field througout the driver's excursion range. Benefits include less coil mass for improved transients and lower distortion.
  
• Enclosure
  The M-00's enclosure is a cast aluminum-zinc alloy, a functionally superior design for integrated, active monitors. Structurally rigid, minimizing audible resonance and sonic coloration, the enclosure also acts as a massive heatsink, allowing the use of a high voltage, fully discrete power amplifier. The M-00's front baffle is made from glass-filled ABS, which, like the cast enclosure, offers rigidity and low resonance characteristics.
  
• Amplifier
  The M-00 employs a fully discrete amplifier providing 75 watts RMS continuous (150W peak) output. The preamplifier section is designed for low noise, high overload tolerance, and minimizes the possibility of noise from ground loops. The transformer is magnetically shielded as to allow use in direct proximity to computer and television monitors.
  
• Controls
  • Distance Proximity
    The M-00 provides the capability for both near-field and mid-field listening positions by optimizing high frequency output to provide flat power response, depending on your listening proximity, with a simple flip of the switch
    
  • Multiple Inputs
    The M-00 features XLR, TRS and phono input jacks, allowing easy direct connection to a variety of devices while minimizing the need for adapters. As an added convenience, the XLR and TRS inputs are paralleled so that multiple M-00's can be daisy chained on a single channel, the number limited only by the current capability of your mixer or distribution amplifier.
    
  • Switchable Input Senstivity
    The M-00 provides noise-free connection to a wide variety of devices, such as professional mixers, computer sound cards and portable digital-music players with its +4dB/;10dB input senstivity switch. With its balanced and unbalanced inputs, the M-00 can be connected to just about any kind of consumer or professional source.
    
  • Auto Power-On The M-00 automatically senses an incoming signal and powers up the internal amplifier from its standby mode. It also powers down automatically after 10 minutes of no music. When the Auto-Power-On feature is not desirable, the circuit may be defeated via the back-panel Power Mode switch.
  
  
• Wall Mounting
  The M-00 may be used with the popular OmniMount 50/53 Series mounting brackets. They can also be used with NHTPro's stand-mount bracket.
