Audyssey technologies enhance your entertainment experience
Audyssey DSX is a scalable system allowing you to add new speakers to improve the surround impression of your home theater. Starting with a 5.1 system powered by a DSX enabled AVR (such as the 4310CI), the first step is to add Wide channels for the biggest impact on envelopment, followed by Height channels, followed by Back Surround channels. DSX also applies Surround Envelopment Processing to enhance the blend between the front and surround channels. The result is a seamless and enveloping experience unlike anything you have heard before in a home theater system.

Large changes in volume often occur between scenes with mainly dialogue and those with thundering special effects, and viewers have to frequently adjust the volume to compensate. Audyssey Dynamic Volume constantly monitors the sound sources and automatically adjusts the volume to the optimum level for the particular source being heard without sacrificing dynamic range.

The AVR-4310CI is also equipped with Audyssey MultEQ XT , which tailors the receiver’s settings for your room’s specific acoustics from eight different seating positions, and Dynamic EQ, which reproduces the high and low range with the optimum acoustic effect during low volume levels. Dynamic Volume combines these two functions to achieve maximum perfor¬mance.

To produce a clear, stable power circuit that prevents un¬wanted noise from affecting the sound, the AVR-4310CI has dedicated CPU and Standby transformers that are sepa¬rate from the audio and video circuitry. In addition, the "simple and straight" design concept has been thor¬oughly implemented in the signal paths to contribute to immaculately clean audio and video playback. Signal paths are as short as possible to keep signal degrada¬tion in the audio and video circuitry to an absolute minimum.

Vibration-resistant construction thor¬oughly suppresses the adverse influences of vibration on sound quality. The power transformers, a source of vibration, have been securely mounted on the highly rigid bottom chassis. Direct mounting of cast-iron feet to the radiator in near prox¬imity to each other serves to suppress mutual vibration with the power transformers and other sources of vibration.

Built-in auto set-up, a new GUI and more
With an RJ-45 Ethernet port, the 4310CI makes it easier than ever to integrate you A/V system into your home network. Mac/PC audio streaming gives you access to Internet radio, jpeg photos and album art, as well as all your digitized music, including MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless and AAC-iTunes files. There is even a USB port with command and control functionality for portable music players, flash drives, and other devices. And of course several different models of optional Denon docks let you charge, control and distribute the music from your iPod.

This PC/network connectivity gives you the capability to make easy online firmware upgrades, and allows Denon engineers to remotely access your receiver and diagnose and fix many problems.

The AVR-4310CI has a built-in HD Radio tuner that’s multi-cast compatible, so you can enjoy multiple streams from your favorite HD stations that offer them. The 4310CI is also XM/Sirius Satellite Radio-ready and “Mini-Tuner” compatible (with the XM Mini-Tuner and the proper dock, you can enjoy Satellite Radio using your home audio system's buttons, knobs and display).
