The Definitive Technology UIW BP/A is an in-wall/in-ceiling speaker whose bipolar sound pattern gives you an enhanced sense of spaciousness plus unequaled dispersion throughout your room. Perfect for use as a main system speaker or as a rear/side surround speaker for multi-channel systems, it is also ideally suited for producing music in multi-room systems.

Definitive's engineers have designed a compact unit with a grille that's practically flush with the wall. A complex Linkwitz-Riley crossover seamlessly blends two 5-1/4-inch cast basket drivers with two 1-inch pure aluminum dome tweeters for superb dynamic range and exceptional sonic performance.

Easy installation and a match for any décor
The UIW BP/A is easy to install even if you're not that handy around the house. Precision templates are included to make cutting the right size hole a snap, and a locking-arm mounting system grabs your wall with high tension clamps at the turn of a screw, to stiffen the baffle and eliminate resonance. Rough-In Kits for new construction are available, too. UIW BP/As are easy to paint so they will seamlessly blend into any room, and they're moisture-resistant for kitchen and even bathroom installations.

Pure aluminum dome tweeters
Definitive's proprietary tweeter (a magnetic fluid-cooled moving-coil tweeter dome of Pure Aluminum) combines the performance advantages of both metal domes (greater clarity) and soft domes (smoother sound and better dampening) into one state-of-the-art design. You'll hear greater detail and more accurate imaging.

High-definition cast-basket bass/midrange drivers
Aerodynamically designed, magnetically inert, non-resonant cast baskets minimize reflections of the sound radiating from the back of the cones. This technological design preserves structural and magnetic integrity for significant performance advantages in the areas of bass reproduction, lifelike midrange clarity and dynamic range.

Rigid, low profile frames
Molded of a glass-filled polymer compound to eliminate baffle resonance, the UIW 55's frame keeps the sound pure by defeating diffraction, providing a wide, dynamic sound-stage while minimizing resonance and coloration.

The perfect sonic match for any Definitive speakers
All Definitive UIW models share the same technologies and sonic signature and may be mixed and matched to create a high-performance built-in home theater. UIW models can also be employed with freestanding Definitive speakers with excellent results.
