Definitive's SuperCube II incorporates an 8-inch SuperCube® Technology woofer pressure coupled to two 8-inch Ultra Low Bass Radiators. The total piston area is greater than a 12-inch diameter woofer, but with far greater speed, musicality and control than a single large diameter woofer could deliver. And all this fits in an amazingly small enclosure that won't overwhelm your living space, as it occupies a mere square foot of floor space!

Totally musical — yet still packs a wallop
There's more to home entertainment than big explosions — music is really a much better test of a subwoofer's ultimate prowess. The bass should be tight and precise. Bass notes should have pitch, not just a dull thud. Definitive Technology was started by and is still run by music fanatics, and the very first thing they do to evaluate a subwoofer design is listen to music. If a subwoofer doesn't do a great job with music reproduction, it isn't a Definitive.

The SuperCube II is powered by a 1250-watt class D amplifier. The result is astounding high-definition bass performance extending effortlessly down to 14 Hz. Slam, pace and rhythm are exemplary, as is the ability to actually shake the walls.

Superior detail and lightning-fast transient response
The powerful, high-definition drivers used in all Definitive powered subwoofers were specifically engineered to deliver rock-solid bass with extremely low distortion. The special ultra-stiff cones are joined to specially formulated surrounds and long-throw voice coils and spiders, while the rigid baskets are engineered to hold the massive magnet structures and large voice coils in absolute alignment. The high temperature voice coils are made of aluminum wound with triple insulated ultra-pure copper wire and baked in epoxy for maximum power handling. The result of all this advanced technology is a sub that can reach down to the lowest frequencies with superior transient response (“tightness”).

Rock-solid cabinets for lower distortion
The cabinet of any speaker plays a large part in its performance, as resonance and vibration can add unwanted distortion and potentially drain away important energy from the system. Definitive's subwoofers utilize monocoque cabinets, which have been specifically engineered to be totally inert and vibration-free to ensure absolutely pure sonic reproduction. Monocoque means that the cabinet is of a unitized construction where all panels are permanently joined together into one solid structure. The cabinet walls themselves are high-density medite fused together by space-age polymer adhesives. The front and rear panels are nearly 2-inches thick and the cabinets each incorporate multiple internal braces to ensure total solidity.

Adjustable crossovers ensure a perfect match to your system and room
In a high-performance audio system you should not be able to perceive that the subwoofer and main speakers are separate entities — they should blend together perfectly to present a seamless, cohesive soundfield. In practice, though, achieving such seamless blending is rare. The key to success is the ability to tweak the subwoofer's controls, and it's here that the SuperCube II really shines. Its sophisticated low-distortion electronic crossover contains a complete range of hookups, circuitry and features which allow it to be connected to and perfectly blended with any system and room.

A continuously adjustable low-pass filter control allows you to choose a high-frequency roll-off of from 40 to 150 Hz. Along with a continuously variable phase-alignment control and a precision level control, you have all the necessary tools at your disposal to achieve the smoothest possible blending between main speakers and subwoofer.

Easy hookup
The SuperCube II has a complete range of inputs, outputs and features to allow easy and effective hookup to any system. Both speaker-level and low-level inputs are provided as well as a separate direct-in LFE low-level input (which bypasses the crossover network), which may be used by itself or in combination with left and right channel high- or low-level inputs for the ultimate in subwoofer flexibility and performance.
