The ProCenter 1000 is the more affordable center speaker in Definitive Technology's acclaimed Pro Series, but don't let its small size and affordable price fool you — it produces big, rich, room-filling sound. The 1000 incorporates many of the same technologies as Definitive's top-of-the-line models, including BDSS drivers, pure aluminum dome tweeters, and planar pressure coupled mid/bass radiators for an elevated level of home theater sound quality.

The secret of their sound
Competing center channel speakers of this size often have weak lower-midrange response, which is a real liability as this critical part of the audio range contains the warmth and body of voices and musical instruments. Definitive's engineers have avoided this shortcoming in the ProMonitor satellites by pressure-coupling their exclusive BDSS technology driver to an equal-sized mid/bass radiator cleverly placed on the top of the satellite. This technique doubles the lower-midrange radiating area of the speaker without increasing the size of the enclosure. You'll enjoy the kind of rich, warm and life-like sound quality that you thought was only possible with big, cumbersome speakers.

Center channel muscle
The center channel speaker produces as much as 75% of a movie's soundtrack (including the vast majority of the dialog), making it the most important speaker in your home theater system. So Definitive lavished extra attention on the ProCenter 1000. It features two of the same BDSS drivers as used in the ProMonitor 800 satellites along with two mid/bass radiators on the sides of the enclosure, allowing it to play loud and clear with exceptional tonal accuracy.

Easy placement
Small enough to disappear in a room but beautiful when in plain view, the ProCenter 1000 can be mounted on a shelf or on top of your TV. Its built-in foot allows you to adjust the angle of the speaker in the vertical plane to aim the speaker at listener's ear height. If you prefer, you can also mount it on the wall using two optional ProMount 80 articulating wall mounts.

The sound
The ProCenter 1000 delivers perfectly clear and intelligible dialog to every listener in the room and produces high-impact sound effects with distortion-free dynamics. It is also capable of great subtlety, so it excels equally with music or movies.

ProMonitor systems
